Healthy Apple Crisp Recipe for Weight Loss


Try our healthy apple crisp recipe created to help you stay on your healthy weight loss plan, keep your blood sugar levels stable while indulging in a sweet treat. This dessert is easy and perfect to serve at your next BBQ. This recipe serves 6 and counts as 1 fruit and 1 starch on your plan.

2 cups dry oatmeal
3 tbsp Fruit Sweet
2 tbsp Spectrum or Earth Balance butter substitute
6 apples, sliced (substitute other fruit like pears and peaches or berries)
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put sliced apples into baking dish with fruit sweet, 1/4 tsp of nutmeg and 1-1/2 tsp of the cinnamon and mix. Bake apple mixture for about 15 minutes until a little softened. In a separate bowl mix together oatmeal, butter, and the rest of the cinnamon and nutmeg, and put on top of apple mixture. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes until top is golden brown. Enjoy!
